  • QUESTION FOR THE GUYS OUT THERE:

Would you be embarrassed to recieve flowers from a female?

  • Not at all...I got a flower from me ex once and I thought it was so cool to get that I still have it two and a half years later. Of course it's dead and she and I have been apart for a year, but I keep the flower in its case and make sure it doesn't get crushed or anything. But that's just me.

  • One of my coworkers got flowers from his girlfriend (it was an appology for her sleeping with another coworker there). I told him that he should parade the flowers around the office like he's the Pretty Office Princess -- he had a bit of discord with that.

You know what the male equivalent of getting flowers would be? Because the whole concept of getting flowers at work is so that the other girls at work will come by and say "You have such a great man." and you want that same effect, you should:

Order (1) pizza, paid and delievered to him at work during lunch. All the guys will crowd around him and think "Damn, ____'s got a good woman at home!"

If you want to spice it up a bit, you can have the pizzaman arrange the pepperoni in a heart-shape.

Or, if that says something way more than you are comfortable with -- a circle!

    (or maybe a happy face)

Regarding your question about having a PDA: I've had a Palm M100, Palm V, HP 1945, and now the Treo 600, and I've learned a few things:

    (1) When you have a 9-5 desk job, you don't really need to "keep appointments."

    (2) When you use it to play games, you're not really making use of a Personal Data Assistant.

    (3) When you stick post-in notes on the screen of your PDA, you're not really understanding it's purpose.

    (4) When you leave it in the trunk of your car for ... oooooooh, until you are trading in your car and the dealer forces you to clean out your car, then you're not really being organized by it (which ironically, the post-it left on the PDA said "clean the car" when I found it).

Seeing that Nos. 1 - 4 were all applicable to me, here's the main reason why I have it:

    (A) I can show off to my friends ...

And that, Miss Crystal, has made all the difference to me in the world...

  • Hey, I wouldn't complain if a woman sent me flowers. I mean, I'm sure my co-workers would have something smart to say, but they'll find something to joke about either way. I see no issue with it.

  • I'm not a guy - but once I sent flowers to one of my guy friends. He was a few years younger than me, and more like a little brother. I was just trying to be nice and cheer him up, but all his friends made fun of him and he got really mad at me.

  • I have never even bought flowers for my hubby, ever...hmmmmm...but I don't think he'd care so much for them anyways...and he's a plumber, so I don't think he'd want to get them at work...lol

    ^^^the pizza idea was cool!

and i had to laugh at the PDA comments...I have a Palm m100 that i never use anymore...novelty wore off real quick...

    Thanks for the anniversary wishes!

  • For some reason the previous link got screwed up. Here it is again. I just thought that you would enjoy a subscription like this.

  • Heh heh. Not quite rich...yet. Actually I've been on the Lakers Season ticket waiting list for the past 3 years and just got off the waitlist this year. The tickets I have are $1,050.00 each, and if I sell the top 15 games (Miami, San Antonio, Phoenix, Sacramento, Denver, Detroit, Cleveland, Minnesota, and New Jersey) at the market rate for 2nd-hand tickets, then I basically get free season tickets. I also get first dibs on playoff tickets (which sell for $300+/game on $25 tickets) and the single-issue season tickets to the top games (which I go), then I can turn a profit.

See, not quite rich --- yet. :)
