  • The holidays are both a joy and a curse for me. I can't wait though. Whatever happens, I'll have tons of fun, or at least pretend to.

  • STILL HERE, STILL GOOFY

Hi xanga. How's it goin? All is well here. Just extremely busy at work, which is where i usually do all my blogging. LOL. I'm excited for Thanksgiving. This will be the first year that my mom hosts the dinner instead of my grandparents. Should be interesting. My granny has already said that she bought some turkey legs to cook just in case dinner isn't edible. LOL. mMy mom just gives her the evil eye. I'm really looking forward to the sweet-potato ice cream and cheesecake. The first time i tasted these things was way back at the Taste Fest this summer. I'm also excited for snow! I just signed up for the Media Ski Challenge again. This is where company sponsored teams compete in skiing/snowboarding races and the money raised helps support Southeast Michigan Special Olympics. The actual race isn't until January, but I'm already imagining the fun I'll have. Plus I get a free lift ticket and rental at Mt. Brighton for the season. Last year I would rent a snowboard and just pay for a lesson. Snowboarding is waaaaay harder than skiing, but still loads of fun. By-the-way, we had our company craft fair. I didn't sell a whole lot of scarves, but a few days later my mom took the rest to her job and sold them all. Plus, I now have a bunch of orders to fill. I love knitting, but now I have deadlines! Eek! Oh, well.... I mainly do it while I'm watching TV anyway. LOL. Have a good night all.

  • The Best Company Ever!!!

I work at the coolest place ever! So, Campbell-Ewald the advertising agency that I work for, recently had to re-bid for a client's business. Well... they won of course! LOL And once again the U.S. Navy is our client. So to celebrate do you know what C-E did? First they gave us awesome t-shirts that have the navy logo with the C-E name. Then at 3:30 this afternoon DanniiMarie and I head up to the 10th floor to see what it's all about. And what do we find? Tons of people milling about with yummy looking food on their plates! So we head towards a sign that reads: Port of Call - Hong Kong/Okinawa only to find tables with sushi, spring rolls, lettuce wraps and Sapporo. This was my first experience with Sapporo, for those that don't know or haven't bother to check out the link, Sapporo is a Japanese beer. It's not too bad. Kinda reminds me of a dark beer. Anaywazz... so the next port of call that we visited was Rota. I think this is in Spain. There to our delight we found bruschetta, sangria, lentil salsa and bee kabobs. Talk about a feast and I'm not even done yet! Our next port was Sydney, Australia. There we found shrimp on the bar bee, foster's beer, and kuko somethin or other wings - they were just chicken wings with a fancy shmancy breading and sauce. The last port of call was Norfolk, Virginia of the good ole U.S. of A. There we found chili dogs, pulled pork sandwiches and soda. Of course, now I am stiffed to the max and a little tipsy. Hey, but I'm not complaining. Any job where I can start Happy Hour at 3:30 is a job for me! Have a great weekend all!

    Please sign my . Thanks!

  • Mmmmmmm Doughnuts!!!

Not much to report. I did go to the cider mill this past weekend. 74910_200That was a lot of fun! I ate a bunch of doughnuts and I still have some cider left. I try to go every year. I remember last year I went with DanniiMaire during our lunch break, but later realized that I had the stomach flu and had to throw away my precious doughnuts. What a travesty!!!! The stomach flu sucks! I hope I don't get it again this year. Ugh! On that note... have a good one all.

P.S. Please sign my . Thanks!

P.P.S. Remember to zoom in. LOL. Thanks!!

  • I always like to finish what I start so here is the rest. There wasn't much response or interest in discussion, so here it is. I definitely recommend The Celestine Prophecy and The Tenth Insight: Holding the Vision. The eleventh insight mentioned is new to me, so I will most likely get the next book soon. Hope you enjoy!

    4
    The Struggle for Power
Too often humans cut themselves off from the greater source of this energy and so feel weak and insecure. To gain energy we tend to manipulate or force others to give us attention and thus energy. When we successfully dominate others in this way, we feel more powerful, but they are left weakened and often fight back. Competition for scarce, human energy is the cause of all conflict between people.

    5
    The Message of the Mystics
Insecurity and violence ends when we experience an inner connection with divine energy within, a connection described by mystics of all traditions. A sense of lightness - buoyancy - along with the constant sensation of love are measures of this connection. If these measures are present, the connection is real. If not, it is only pretended.

    6
    Clearing the Past
The more we stay connected, the more we are acutely aware of those times when we lose connection, usually when we are under stress. In these times, we can see our own particular way of stealing energy from others. Once our manipulations are brought to personal awareness, our connection becomes more constant and we can discover our own growth path in life, and our spiritual mission - the personal way we can contribute to the world.

    7
    Engaging the Flow
Knowing our personal mission further enhances the flow of mysterious coincidences as we are guided toward our destinies. First we have a question; then dreams, daydreams, and intuitions lead us towards the answers, which usually are synchronistically provided by the wisdom of another human being.

    8
    The Interpersonal Ethic
We can increase the frequency of guiding coincidences by uplifting every person that comes into our lives. Care must be taken not to lose our inner connection in romantic relationships. Uplifting others is especially effective in groups where each member can feel energy of all the others. With children it is extremely important for their early security and growth. By seeing the beauty in every face, we lift others into their wisest self, and increase the chances of hearing a synchronistic message.

    9
    The Emerging Culture
As we all evolve toward the best completion of our spiritual missions, the technological means of survival will be fully automated as humans focus instead on synchronistic growth. Such growth will move humans into higher energy states, ultimately transforming our bodies into spiritual form and uniting this dimension of existence with the after-life dimension, ending the cycle of birth and death.

    10
    Holding the Vision
The Tenth Insight is the realization that throughout history human beings have been unconsciously struggling to implement this lived spirituality on Earth. Each of us comes here on assignment, and as we pull this understanding into consciousness, we can remember a fuller birth vision of what we wanted to accomplish with our lives. Further we can remember a common world vision of how we will all work together to create a new spiritual culture. We know that our challenge is to hold this vision with intention and prayer everyday.

    11
    Extending Prayer Fields
The Eleventh Insight is the precise method through which we hold the vision. For centuries, religious scriptures, poems, and philosophies have pointed to a latent power of mind within all of us that mysteriously helps to affect what occurs in the future. It has been called faith power, positive thinking, and the power of prayer. We are now taking this power seriously enough to bring a fuller knowledge of it into public awareness. We are finding that this prayer power is a field of intention, which moves out from us and can be extended and strengthened, especially when we connect with others in a common vision. This is the power through which we hold the vision of a spiritual world and build the energy in ourselves and in others to make this vision a reality.

The 12th Insight is yet to be released . . .

  • The Third Insight

    A Matter of Energy

"We now experience that we live not in a material universe, but in a universe of dynamic energy. Everything extant is a field of sacred energy that we can sense and intuit. Moreover, we humans can project our energy by focusing our attention in the desired direction...where attention goes, energy flows...influencing other energy systems and increasing the pace of coincidences in our lives."

  • The Second Insight

    The Longer Now

"The Second Insight puts our current awareness into a longer historical perspective." Through the Second Insight we can extend our view of historical time. It shows us our proccupation and therefore lifts us above it. Our preoccupation with our purpose on earth, in the universe.

"This awakening represents the creation of a new, more complete worldview, which replaces a five-hundred-year-old preoccupation with secular survival and comfort. While this technological preoccupation was an important step, our awakening to life's coincidences is opening us up to the real purpose of human life on this planet, and the real nature of our universe."

This insight helped me put my current discontent into perspective. Of course these kinds of changes will take time. But I hope that analyzing over and over again will help me put it all into perspective. What are your thoughts on this book so far?

  • I often don't have very much to talk about here on xanga. And if I do it's often not very interesting. So, I've decided to outline some books that I've read about life and the spiritual journey that goes with it.. The first book that I'm going to discuss in great length is The Celestine Prophecy. This book was first introduced to me by a friend who believed wholeheartedly in its message and even had a framed poster that outlined its main points.  I didn't actually read the book until years later though.

The whole story is about a guy who ends up on an adventure filled quest for spiritual guidance.  It starts out that he hears about an ancient Peruvian manuscript from an old friend who happens to be in town for a few hours. Charlene tells how this manuscript is being suppressed by the government.

Well, I was never that goo at book reports. LOL. So here's the basics. The narrator goes on an adventure and at each major conflict or struggle discovers a new insight outlined by this ancient manuscript. This book uncovers 9 insights.

    The first insight :

    A Critical Mass

A profound sense of restlessness. A glimpse of moments in our lives that feel more intense and inspiring. These instances lead up to the first insight, which occurs when we become aware of the coincidences in our lives. This is something that we have heard about before. Thedifference is in the numbers. People all over the world will become aware of their individual coincidences at the same time as thousands of others. When a certain number of people have become aware of the coincidences within their lives we will have reached A Critical Mass. When we reach this critical mass we'll take these coincidences seriously. Then as one we will question the meaning of life. This is how the next insights will be revealed.

I've certainly become aware of the coincidences in my life since reading this book. It also gave me hope that while others don't experience the same coincidences they do experience them and have similar questions about their role on earth. Jeez! Can we say run on sentence? LOL. We already know I'm no writer. Anywayz, what are your thoughts? Have any of you ever read this book? Did I give a clear picture of the message?
