  • Free For All!!

Thank god I work at a place that gets such great perks!!! I got to see John Mayer and Sheryl Crow last night for free. That's right... FREE!!!!!

There were 8 of us and we all rode together in a limo.100_0314

It was truly a blast. Free drinks, free ride, and a free concert. You can't get much better than that.

    concert 4[1]

It was really cool cause the show was at the DTE Music Theater (formerly known as Pine Knob which is an outdoor venue.

    concert 3[1]

    concert 5[1]

Sheryl looked really thin. And John Mayer was definitely the better performer last night. I really enjoyed his guitar playing. He actually inspired me to start practicing again. LOL

  • Holiday Weekend Update

Friday: Got off of work early and went to the dentist. A++ on the teeth. Then went to the gym. Then got my hair done.

Saturday: Went with Mom and Buddy (my grandfather) to the Detroit Football Classic.

    100_0279

We were right next to Florida A&M's band.
    100_0282

Eric Benet sang the National Anthem. 100_0287 100_0288

The game was O.K., but the best part was the battle of the bands. FAMU''s band was 10 times larger than Delaware State's LOL.

Sunday: Went out to eat witht he grandparents at Etouffee. 100_0306
I had Salmon with green beans and macaroni and cheese.
Buddy had Fried chicken with greens and mac and cheese.
    100_0307

Later saw Idlewild. A great movie!! 2 thumbs up from me.

Monday: Barbequed, worked out, went to Pontiac's Arts, Beats & Eats. Really cool. It was my first time going. I would call it a combo of art festival, taste fest, and music fest. LOL Some of everything in one!!! They even had rides.
    100_0309

There was a ton of different food vendors. Even Rainforest Cafe!!!100_0310

There were some really talented artists there. This guys paintings all had piano keys featured in them. 100_0311

This was a really crazy statue that drew everyone over to the artist's tent. I wonder why, LOL. 100_0312

The artist who created this statue used all kins of items to create it. The eyes are made of spoons and the body is made from a motocycle gas tank. 100_0313

Note: We were celebrating my granfather's 76th birthday. That's why we took hime to the classic and then out to eat.

  • Weekend Update

    Saturday:
Got a lot done around the house. Later on that night went to a house party and had some really great jungle juice.

    Sunday:
Went to the African World Festival yesterday. 100_0274It was a lot of fun. I got a really cool wooden vase from a guy out of Jamaica. 100_0278
100_0277The guy was telling us how He uses over 100 different varieties of wood. He also said how none of the wood is staind. It's all in its natural stat and color. That's what sold me.

I also got some books from the $5 stall. Although this year I saw more book sellers than before. There was even a $7 book stall.

  • Can't Get it Right

I can't seem to get this "life" business straight. Is there some kind of catch that I'm missing? Did I lose a page of notes somewhere that divulges the secret?? Please help!!! I have no idea how to live life!

August 8, 2006

  • Just had to get myself together. You know... the usual, mentally, physically, and financially. So far 0/3, but I'm working on it.

  • Lot Rock

    What: Lot Rock
When: Every Thursday for the next month
    Who: Co-workers and their bands
Where: On the lawn near the parking lot

This was really cool!!! The coolest company in the world, which I happen to work for put on this really cool event yesterday. We got to enjoy free beer, wine, snacks, and pizza while listening to great music in the best weather ever!!!!

    Me Watching the band.

The first band was called Studiotone. The guy in the blue shirt actually works with me. They were all pretty cute and they had an awesome rock sound.

The second band was called Cocktail Shake. I can't even describe their sound, but they were great. The bald guy in the middle is the one who works with me.

I love any kind of live music, so that in itself was a great experience. The added plus was that it was all free!!!

  • Ranting

I don't understand how I could have 109 footprints yesterday and only 1 comment. WTF?!?!?!?!!!! I mean seriously. On average I comment to about 6 people a day. You'd think I'd at least get a "RYC" comment back, but nooooo.

  • "To deny our impulses is to deny the very thing that makes us human."

Not sure who said this, but I must of thought it was a great quote since I wrote it in my quote book. LOL (Just after I typed this, I remembered that it came from the first Matrix movie.) But just imagine, if human beings didn't deny some of their most base impulses. Does not wanting to deny yourself make you greedy?
